deep green forest

Get ready to take control of your life.

Many of us are unaware that our bodies are carrying the weight of trauma. Over time, it corrodes health, relationships, work, and well-being.

Somatic therapy can help.

Somatic (adj.) - of or relating to the body. We know that mind and body - thought, emotion, and sensation - are interconnected and influence one another, though not always in obvious ways. Somatic therapy is a form of psychotherapy that combines mind-body exercises, mindfulness, and experiential learning to address trauma at the root.

Individuals

Perhaps you’ve been in therapy before but it hasn’t taken you very far, or you have done great work in “talk therapy” and you’re ready to go deeper. Somatic therapy is about learning how to listen to yourself, and unearth rather than bury the pain of the past.

Couples

Couples counseling is not just for when you are at the end of your tether or ready to split up. You can learn how to be a better partner at any time in your life or at any stage in your relationship.

Who I Am

NAOMI PAINTER, MEd, LPC
I am a somatic therapist who helps burnt out helpers and other professionals who feel the lingering pain of their childhood to rediscover the vitality of their embodied experience so they can boldly reclaim joy and finally live, not for others, but for themselves.

We do not have to improve ourselves; we just have to let go of what blocks our heart.
— Jack Kornfield
